Questions And Answers About Colon Cleansing Diet Foods

Daniel asks…

How are you supposed to prevent obesity when the only decent gyms LA Fitness and 24 Hour Fitness charge $49.99?

LA Fitness and Shaq 24 Hour Fitness are the only gyms worth joining. The rest of them including Gold’s Gym are ratholes where there’s no maintenance. How are you supposed to prevent blowing up like a balloon? Not everyone wants to be a vegetarian, eat bland foods and have to drive yourself crazy thinking about every piece of food that goes in your mouth. And I don’t want to hear any crap from vegetarians about how delicious the food they eat is. It’s unacceptable as a steady diet. I also don’t want to hear anything from the idiot who swears by colon cleansing. Colon cleansing is life threatening. Case closed. And running or walking 5-7 miles a day outdoors is insane. Even if you listen to an iPod it’s unbearably monotonous. Your feet burn like fire not to mention how much your legs hurt from running or walking long distances on asphalt. Besides walking or running outside will not tone your muscles and make you lose weight anywhere near as well as a proper workout in a gym will.
LA Fitness and Shaq 24 Hour are so unreasonable. There’s no way they should charge any more than $19.99 a month. $49.99 a month is a joke. They act like working out is entertainment. It’s sweating and suffering but absolutely necessary to keep functioning and not get so fat that you’re a sitting duck for all kinds of ridiculously painful conditions and life threatening diseases. What’s wrong with the world that oblivious idiots run everything?
You’re all idiots who are living in a dream world and have no understanding of what a logistical nightmare all the suggestions you’ve made are. The only answer I got that made any sense at all was the one suggesting the free workouts you can get on youtube. But I’m sure those workouts are just a drop in the bucket compared to how much exercise you need to stay fit. No pain, no gain is the brutal truth.
And the idiot who said that TVs, pumped up music and more varied classes are entertainment in the more upscale gyms must own or manage a gym. Entertainment when you’re sweating like a pig and your body aches from strenuous workouts. You’re just saying that because you make money off it. And I wouldn’t do that for a living for all the money in the world. You have to be a musclehead to work in a gym. And I’m not ranting. What I’m saying is reality.

You don’t need to go to a gym to get a good workout. You can set up a home gym and get a great workout. Also, you can go out jogging and get pretty fit. Sure, it is nice to have a large number of weights and gym machines, but why would they do it for free?

If I were you I would do 2 things to start a sensible home program:

1. Get “Enter the Zone” by Dr Barry Sears, read the book and follow the diet. It is more of a “lifestyle change” than a diet, and it is easy to follow.

2. Buy a book on kettlebells (probably by Pavel Tsatusline) such as “Enter the Kettlebell” Go buy a kettlebell in the range that you feel would be useable, and follow a workout program. The nice thing about kettlebells is that one kettlebell, although it will seem expensive, will replace an entire gym for some people.

So, for about 60-70 dollars you will have a program that you can do anytime and with good success.

Donald asks…

Blood in stool?

I’ve been using this diet aide called 2 Day Slim Down. It’s like a drink mix. You mix this powder into a bottle of water and do it 4 times a day in place of food. It’s like a colon cleansing. But today, when I went to the bathroom, I had blood in my stool. It was red. Is this a side effect of the fast? If so, should I be worried? I’m not going to take it anymore.
It’s throughout.

Stop the detox, you may just have irritated internal or external hemorrhoids. But you may have something even more serious like diverticulitis or colitis. I work in gastroenterology and you should see a doctor about this. If you are 50 or over it is recommended that you have a colonoscopy for screening of colon/rectal cancer. Your primary care doctor can take a guiac(test for blood in stool and check your complete blood count to make sure you are not anemic or have low blood counts and refer you to a gastroenterologist if need be. Colon cleanses can be harsh and really serve no purpose.
